Iran’s strategic petrochemical industry owns the highest export figure among the country’s non-oil exports. The world population growth is the main cause of the increasing demand for petrochemical products, and justifies ever-growing attractiveness of petrochemical markets. Considering the high impacts of petrochemicals exports on national revenues, the industry has always been moving toward structuring best business relationship with its customers across the world. China, India, Iraq, Azerbaijan and some European countries are among the remarkable markets for Iran’s petrochemical products.
Export of the petrochemical products has faced serious challenges in the recent years, due to the unilateral sanctions imposed by the USA. However, despite the imposed restrictions, Iran’s petrochemical industry, in line with the country’s Resistance Economy policy, has not only managed to realize its global target markets but also promoted the export process through diversification of sales methods, selecting the strategic customers and employing all local and foreign facilities in export to chain. As a result, the industry’s share in the global petrochemical markets have been significantly enhanced.
